Celebrating U.S. Independence Day 2023 – Gallery

The United States Mission to Ecuador commemorated the 247th anniversary of U.S. independence with receptions in Quito and Guayaquil.  The theme for both events focused on the state of Kentucky, which has a longstanding partnership with Ecuador since 1996 through the U.S. government’s State Partnership Program, led by the U.S. National Guard under the U.S. Department of Defense.

At the celebration in Quito, which took place at the Quito Bicentennial Center on Monday, July 3, 2023, the United States Ambassador to Ecuador and host of the event, Michael J. Fitzpatrick, welcomed honored guest President Guillermo Lasso, Foreign Minister Gustavo Manrique, other Ecuadorian government authorities, members of the armed forces, police, the diplomatic corps, representatives of civil society, the private sector, and NGOs.
