Due to the effects of the pandemic, the U.S. Mission to Ecuador is currently unable to process most routine, non-immigrant visa applications, including those for first time B (tourist) visa applications. However, our consular sections are processing nonimmigrant visa renewals and emergency appointments, and the Consulate General in Guayaquil continues to process a limited number of immigrant visas.
We do not yet know when we will be able to resume routine visa services and open additional visa appointments in both Quito and Guayaquil. As soon as it is determined to be safe to resume regular visa processing, we intend to make routine appointments available throughout 2021. Applicants who have already scheduled appointments in 2022 will then be allowed to move up their appointments to an earlier date, subject to availability.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resume our full visa operations, and facilitate travel between the United States and Ecuador, in a manner that is safe for both our applicants and our staff. Look for future updates via our social media and website as developments warrant.
