Deputy Coordinator of the Office of International Information Programs visits Ecuador

The Deputy Coordinator of the Office of International Information Programs, Doctor Jonathan Henick, visited Guayaquil, Cuenca, and Quito from July 24 to 26, 2016. Dr. Henick’s visit, part of a tour through South America, marked the highest level visit from the Department’s Office of Public Diplomacy since 2010.

Dr. Henick works to develop communication programs that promote the exchange of ideas regarding U.S. foreign policy on various digital platforms. He also is in charge of the administration of American spaces in the region.

As part of his visit, he traveled to Cuenca to see the Abraham Lincoln Binational Center, and gave a presentation at the Center for Inter-American Studies (CEDEI) on the importance of digital communication in the global environment.

The visit by Deputy Coordinator Henick reaffirms the commitment of the United States government to push forward a broad and positive bilateral agenda.
