Beginning May 8, 2021, Ecuadorians who applied for the Diversity Visa Program 2022 (DV-2022) will be able to verify if their entrance was selected. Each year, the diversity visa program makes available up to 55,000 diversity visas, among all of the eligible countries.

Beginning May 8, 2021, DV-2022 entrants will be able to use their unique confirmation number provided at registration to check the online Entrant Status Check at https://dvprogram.state.gov/ to see if their entry was selected. The online Entrant Status Check will inform successful entrants how to apply for diversity visas for themselves and their eligible family members. The U.S. Department of State will also confirm visa interview appointments through the Entrant Status Check. The confirmation number is the only way to verify selection for the program and obtain information about an appointment, if selected. It is important that the participants save their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2022.
Applicants should be cautious of false notifications that seek to scam applicants. The U.S. Department of State will never send e-mails, text messages, or make telephone calls to those selected. If someone offers to accelerate the process or guarantees results in exchange for money, it should be treated as a scam.
Being randomly chosen as a selectee does not guarantee you will receive a visa. Selection merely means that you are eligible to apply for a diversity visa, and potentially be issued a diversity visa if qualified.
Diversity visa applicants must pay all application fees and costs, including those for medical examinations, for themselves and qualifying family members. Immigrants under the diversity visa program must also prove they will be able to support themselves in the United States. Immigration under the diversity visa program does not entitle the immigrant or family members to any financial or settlement assistance in the United States.
Selected diversity visa applicants who wish to apply for visas must be prepared to act promptly on their cases. Individuals who miss or reschedule their visa application appointments or come without all required documents risk that a visa number will not be available.
