Diversity Visa Program 2024

From October 5 to November 8, 2022, Ecuadorians can apply to the Diversity Visa Program, that makes available up to 55,000 diversity visas between all eligible countries. There is no fee to enter.

Ecuadorian citizens are again eligible to participate in the Diversity Visa program for 2024. The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available up to 55,000 diversity visas (DVs) each year, drawn by random selection among all entries, to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements and from countries with low rates of recent immigration to the United States.

The applications to the program begin on October 5 at 11:00 AM and end on November 8 at 12:00 PM. The law allows only one entry per person during the registration period.  If more than one entry is submitted for an individual, that individual will be ineligible for a DV.

The Department accepts entries ONLY through the E-DV site, which has complete instructions. There is no fee to enter. All entrants must print and retain their online confirmation page after completing their DV entries so that they will be able to check their entry status, as explained below.

It is very important for entrants to keep a record of their unique confirmation number until at least September 30, 2024. The confirmation number is the only way to check whether an entry has been selected.

Beginning May 6, 2023, DV-2024 entrants will be able to use their unique confirmation number provided at registration to check the online Entrant Status Check at dvprogram.state.gov to see if their entry was selected.

The Department of State never notifies entrants via phone, mail, or email that they are selected for the DV program. For DV-2024, notification of selection is only available by directly accessing Entrant Status Check on the E-DV website: dvprogram.state.gov. No one can credibly offer any increased chance of being selected. Selection is performed completely randomly from all of the acceptable entries.

Being randomly chosen as a selectee does not guarantee that you will receive a visa or a visa interview. Selection merely means that the person is eligible to participate in the DV program.
