Where to Apply

Consular Districts

You can apply at the Embassy or Consulate of your choice; however we always recommend applying at the Consular Section which covers the Consular District of your residence, since you could be called for another interview or deliver more documentation.

The U.S. Embassy in Quito covers: Bolivar, Carchi, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Esmeraldas, Imbabura, Pastaza, Pichincha, Morona Santiago, Napo, Orellana, Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, Sucumbios and Tungurahua.

The U.S. Consulate in Guayaquil covers: Azuay, Cañar, El Oro, Galápagos, Guayas, Loja, Los Ríos, Manabí, Santa Elena and Zamora Chinchipe.

Apply for a Passport

First U.S. passport, renewal of a minor’s passport or first time adult passport (16 years old or older).

Once you have gathered all the required documentation to apply for a U.S. Passport, you must make an appointment for “Passport services other than adding pages.  You may schedule an appointment at the Consular Section in Quito or Guayaquil.

The American Citizens Services Section does not schedule appointments by phone since it requires personal information of each applicant.

Renew a Passport

Renewal of regular U.S. passport for an adult using a DS-82 or DS-5504.

Lost or Stolen Passport

Replacement a Lost or Stolen Passport

Once you have gathered all the required documentation to apply for a replacement lost or stolen passport, you must make an appointment for “Passport services other than adding pages.  You may schedule an appointment at the Consular Section in Quito or Guayaquil.
